Chicken Roast with Christmas Spices


Ingredients:

  • 500g of chicken breast
  • 2 tbsp of olive oil
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 tsp of black pepper
  • 1 tsp of ground cinnamon ede
  • 1 tsp of nutmeg
  • 1 tsp of allspice
  • 1 tbsp of brown sugar
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 sprig of fresh rosemary


Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Oven
  • Roasting pan
  • Meat thermometer
  • Basting brush
  • Mixing bowl


Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, salt, black pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, brown sugar, and minced garlic to create a spice paste.
  • Rub the spice paste all over the chicken breasts ensuring an even coating.
  • Place the chicken in a roasting pan and insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the breast.
  • Roast in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F).
  • Baste the chicken with the juices halfway through cooking for extra flavor.
  • Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  • Garnish with fresh rosemary and serve hot.
